I am turning to the BBS for some help...
We have a dog, she is 3 years old and has just been diagnosed with degenerative joint disease, she isn't in too much pain at present but has been acting odd for last 6 months which prompted the investigation, and now we know why she didn't want to go on long walks or walks at all, and was being a bit grumpy
As we have had to limit her world (behaviourist and vet advice) she has developed a noise sensitivity and is reluctant to go anywhere now
We are a family of 4 that were looking fwd to a holiday, we got a dog as we are very much an outdoorsy family that enjoy long walks, etc, and for those holidays abroad have used a recommended kennels, now we aren't too keen on kennels due to the above, but have no alternatives
A UK holiday, where we take the dog is also not looking likely. She is very much part of the family and dearly loved but we just don't know which way to turn next.
Pain meds will obviously help her, and will help with her behaviour but they wont resolve the long term issue
Does anyone have experience of such situations and have any advice?
