Every year, out come the baubles and titles in the gift of our Monarch in the Honours List, and every year argument ensues over who deserved what or didn't.
We all know:
i) most of the Honours thus distributed are not chosen or endorsed even, by the Queen.
ii) there is the 'other' Honours List - Queen's Birthday - and less frequently, upon the departure of a Prime Minister.
Which one person above all else would you have liked to have seen honoured this New Year? Knighthood (Sir somebody somebody) or Damehood.
Please try NOT to nominate your mother, wife or children, and please just choose one person if possible. We don't really want a list of all your favourite people on Facebook.
Needless to say you are NOT allowed to nominate yourself.
I was listening to the Radio just now and there was a tribute to presenter and comedian Nicholas Parsons after 50 years of presenting Radio 4's 'Just A Minute'.
He also did 'Sale of the Century' less conspicuously but extremely well. And he has done loads of other stuff in film, TV and radio, as well as a load of work for charidee in his own time.
So step forward please....Sir Nicholas Parsons.
Your turn.....
