Former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Dean Kiely is to become the new goalkeeping coach at Crystal Palace. The Eagles are understood to have lined up the Salford-born 47-year-old to fill their backroom vacancy. He is currently employed by Preston North End but worked with Palace manager Roy Hodgson at West Bromwich Albion. Kiely played over 200 games for Charlton after signing from Bury in 1999, his first campaign in SE7 seeing the South London club race to the Championship title. Kiely won 11 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
