It would appear that the days of going to the pub to watch Palace streams are all but over for now.
Apart from Sky going after any pubs that show Sky games without subscription (which has been going on for quite some time), the Premier League are aggressively targeting any pubs that show games from foreign sources.
They use undercover operatives with hidden lapel cameras to film the games being streamed and then threaten the pubs with £70K+ fines + High Court costs etc.
They've done the rounds in Croydon in the latter part of the last season and a lot of pubs have got very scary solicitors letters asking to sign an undertaking not to show any further copyright material or risk losing a lot of money!
It's fair enough as far as the law goes, it's just a shame that we won't be able to get together to watch games en mass. I much prefer watching a Palace away game down the pub with a load of other Palace but people are going to end up still watching the game but just watching it at home with a few cheap cans I suppose!
