We are at a big crossroads. If Wilf goes then, depending on how we spend the transfer fee, we might be one of the clubs that needs to look over its collective shoulder next season. That scenario would mean whoever comes up could be a big factor in potential survival for us.
Thankfully, Norwich and Sheff Utd are coming up, both of whom should be good bets for relegation next season. Weed ought to be in the mix too. But, assuming we are weakened next season and relegation battles are a concern, who would we want to grab the final promotion spot from the Championship and hopefully be another ill-equipped outfit for the Prem? Derby? 'Boro? Or should we be hoping for a big team like Villa or Leeds, which will certainly add some prestige to the division? Are we too solid to worry about who is promoted and should hope for some more powerful clubs to make the games better?
