Hi all,
Just a quick line about an experience I had at the end of last month with my Coral on-line account.
I placed a straight tricast bet for £4 on a dog race at Doncaster at the back end of September and as I hit "bet", I got a message up stating that there had been a server error. You'll probably all know that if a price changes, the bet is not struck until you "review and bet" which is the message I then got. Being a tricast, I knew there was no price change and wanting to get the bet on quickly, I hit the "review and bet". I got a 2nd server error message and repeated this again until I finally got the bet placed. Shortly after, I checked my balance and found that all 3 bets had been placed, a total of £12.
Despite contacting Coral and explaining the server error message, they failed to refund the duplicate stakes (OK, the bet lost and it would be interesting to know what would have happened had it won!). It was only after much stubborn procrastination on their part and after I closed my account that they apologised profusely and offered 3 x £4 free bets if I re-opened. I have not taken this option as the whole thing was a matter of principle and I have suggested they donate the £12 to the retired greyhounds trust.
I also advised, at time of closing the account, that I would relate this incident in as many places as I could as a warning to those using or thinking of opening a Coral account.
I have therefore carried out my promise and I thank you for indulging me. If anyone has had a similar experience, it would make interesting reading.
