Sometimes, smaller clubs or bigger ones that haven't enjoyed recent success get a kind of perfect storm of players that create a team that's a joy to watch (sadly for the fans, not for very long usually). What teams from the past rarely get mentioned these days, but lit it up back in the day?
That Oxford United team that eventually went on to win the Milk Cup. John. Aldridge, Trevor Hebberd, Ray Houghton, Kevin Brock. A few seasons earlier they gave us a true pumping at the Manor Ground, playing some fantastic stuff.
The Coventry team that won the FA Cup, Spurs the season Clive Allen scored 187 goals in 42 games, and the WBA team from the late 70s/early 80s with Regis, Cunningham, Moses, and Robson spring to mind for me
