Hello All,
I hope someone can advise on a quick legal question?
I work for a letting agency business and whilst sending out a monthly newsletter previously all of the landlords email addresses were 'CC'd' in and not 'B'CC'd' in on the correspondence. Clearly not the best idea but human errors do occur.
An immediate recall was sent but unfortunately not all were recovered.
One of the recipients has now set up his own letting agent and is now emailing, directly, each individual landlord to try to sell them their services. Some of our landlords have forwarded the correspondence on to ourselves.
I have tried to contact the business in question but am awaiting a response.
Surely this is not only bad practice but mis-use of accidentally received data?
Or is this my fault for accidentally cc'ing everyone in?
Please advise. Thank you in advance.
Adam
PS. it's a bit low. Scummish really
