about 2 pm, I switch the car radio on, and there is a discussion on referees decisions.
Poll appeared to give honest ands reasonable answers about decisions called in feisty matches. Also said whatever aids the referees had, the two principles were
1. the referee always has the final decision
2. Once the final whistle is blown, none of the referees decisions should be challenged to change the outcome of the game.
I agree in principle with the 2 points above,.....however,...
When Poll was asked about playing the advantage for a few seconds before blowing the whistle, and calling play back,...he was resolute.
"Always let play continue for a few seconds to see how it plans out. You can always bring play back for a Free Kick if there is no advantage in letting play continue"
Made my blood boil thinking of ****enberk in the Cup Final.
