Carol Kirkwood may be a bit long in the tooth now, with not much time left at the top level. However, in terms of shirt sales and expanding our influence around the world, she might be worth a punt.
Her trophy cabinet is, like Zlatan's, well stocked. Television and Radio Industry Club (TRIC) Best Weather Presenter award winner 5 times in a row...2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. We could be signing the Messi of weather presenters.
Wages may be a problem with such a marquee name. And at 52 she has little resale value. But surely worth a go for a short term boost?
She used to work with Susannah Reid too, so we may have an in there.
