Parking ticket question

Hi, picked up a rescue dog from battersea Saturday
Got ticket for my troubles
Meter said no need for ticket
Monday to Friday only
So I didn't buy one
Bay was suspended but I didn't think that important if you didn't need a ticket anyway...

There was no work going on either!
Urghhh

Is it worth appealing? Thnx in advance £130!
