I need the name of a historical battle or a conflict which epitomizes a struggle between two individuals that has a longevity to it. Not a feud but more a battle for supremacy over the course of a period of time.
My initial thought was 'Waterloo' but that conveys more a straight forward win or loss, all or nothing scenario. I want something that conveys an on-going struggle between two individuals.
