So I'm beginning to plan a week-long (or thereabouts) trip from the great land down under to Europe. Having never been to Europe, I don't know what I'm doing and I've come to the trusty BBS for advice.
1. So I was thinking Paris for a few days and then Belgium or the Netherlands for a couple days before I leave Europe. I think Paris is very definite (unless you can persuade me otherwise), but Belgium/Netherlands may change. If I do go to Belgium or the Netherlands, which city (I'll only go to one city as I'll only be 2 or 3 days)? And if not the Netherlands/Belgium, then where?
2. I speak just English. Will I have a hard time getting around and doing what I want to do?
3. I have a choice between abandoning the girlfriend and coming by myself in September, or bringing her with me in December. Which month is better ie temperature, rainyness etc.?
4. Is food and drink and stuff expensive in Europe?
